Seasoned gacha RPG players will have one question on their mind when it comes to Counterside: how do Counterside dupes work? They're a key part of any levelling system in mobile games, and this latest title to hit the market is no different. As such, we're here to explain exactly what dupes are in Counterside, and how they work within the game's mechanics.
In this Counterside guide, we're talking about duplicate characters, or dupes. They have a key role to play in the level breaking mechanic you'll encounter once you max out a character, and we'll go over all the details so you're totally prepared.

What Are Counterside Dupes?
When you do gacha pull after gacha pull in Counterside, the chances are you'll end up with a lot of duplicates, or dupes. These leftover cards may not seem to have much utility at first, but as you scale the ranks they play a crucial role.
However, you don't have to grind to get Counterside dupes, which is always fortunate. You'll naturally collect them as you spin more gacha rolls and unlock characters. The ones that are new will be added to your roster, while the dupes will stack for use later down the line.
What Do I Use Counterside Dupes For?
The main reason you'll want to hold onto Counterside dupes is for the limit breaking mechanic. Generally speaking, once you hit level 100 on a character, you can't upgrade their stats any higher. Most of the time they'll have to just stay at the max level, with impressive stats but no opportunity to get them higher.
However, if you have enough dupes of the level 100 character in question, you can use the limit breaking feature to get them even higher. This is best saved for SSR characters you use frequently in your team, to boost them even further.
That said, given how advanced the process of limit breaking SSR characters is, you'll need a lot of dupes to actually do it. The usual limit breaking process requires 15 cores per level, but they are very hard to get your hands on. As an alternative, you can relinquish five dupes in exchange for a core. Therefore, you can boost a character from level 100 to level 110 if you have 75 duplicates of it in your inventory. Yes, this is a process that only the very best Counterside players will ever be able to test out.
