Breakdown
- EA used Dead Space 2 art to promote merch
- Fans are hoping this is a teaser for the sequel's eventual remake
- There is still no news on a Dead Space 2 remake
EA’s Dead Space remake was a huge success and has fans wondering when the Dead Space 2 remake will be coming out. For the most part, EA has been pretty quiet about the future of Isaac Clarke, but a recent post about the franchise’s merchandise has fans hoping for news soon.
On Twitter, EA shared a poster about making your own Plasma Cutter, which is pretty uneventful at first glance. However, many fans noticed that the merch uses Dead Space 2 art in the background, immediately leading to requests for the sequel’s remake.
While most fans are aware that this is just promotional art and nothing more, there is still hope that a Dead Space 2 remake will eventually be announced. Considering how well the first game did, there is a very good chance that the follow-up is getting remade. As it stands, fans will have to be patient, as EA has yet to confirm if they’re remaking the whole trilogy.
The second game in EA’s horror series was easily this franchise’s standout installment before we got that amazing remake. Although the game did play similarly, the second game gave Isaac a voice and fleshed his character out a lot more. It’s easy to forget that Isaac was mute in the first game, especially since the recent remake gave him his voice early.
At the time of writing, a remake for Dead Space 2 still hasn’t been confirmed, as developer Motive is currently working on EA’s Iron Man game. There’s always a chance that the devs will get to work on the sequel after finishing up on the Marvel game, but only time will tell. It’s safe to assume that the remake of this sequel is going to take a while and that’s fine, especially since horror is far from dead these days.
Fans can pick up the original version of Dead Space 2 on PC, while the Dead Space remake is available on PS5, Xbox Series, and PC.
