In the most unsurprising news we could think of, EA Motive’s Iron Man game will have RPG elements that allow you to unlock new skills, upgrade suits and more.
Following the studio’s release of the brilliant Dead Space Remake on PC, Xbox and PlayStation, EA Motive is using Unreal Engine 5 to create the highest quality Iron Man game possible. With fans also helping to develop the title, it should be an incredible experience.
Via Tech4Gamers, a recent job listing for the Iron Man game reveals plans to integrate some RPG elements into the upcoming superhero game. While this was to be expected considering the trend of modern gaming, it’s still nice to hear more details regarding the title.
The EA Motive job listing asks for a senior systems designer that will help create some of the major elements of the titles gameplay. In the listing, Motive specifically asks for a designer that has “knowledge of recent titles and trends in action games and RPGs”.
This means that the EA Iron Man game will likely add some RPG elements to its action gameplay. This isn’t new to the character in gaming. For example, the recent Iron Man VR game had RPG options to select weapons and upgrade your various suits.
EA Motive’s last title, Dead Space Remake, also had its own RPG elements with upgradable stats, weapons and other mechanics. With this in mind, these light RPG mechanics would also suit the upcoming superhero game as well.
At the time of writing, not much is known about EA Motive’s Iron Man project. While the game has recruited iconic Fantastic Four writer Ryan North to pen the game’s story, it’s not known what the premise of this upcoming title is. Will it be The Mandarin? Maybe a huge threat like Ultron? It’s all a mystery.
Hopefully, EA’s Iron Man will be a spectacular title on the level of Insomniac’s Spider-Man 2, read our review here, a game that truly understands its source material.
