Fans have been waiting for Elden Ring DLC news since its launch, with numerous eagle-eyed viewers relying on Steam updates for potential information. It seems that FromSoftware has updated the game, with numerous files being labeled as DLC, assuming that we can trust Steam.
PCGamesN has been able to share some of the data getting updated and it looks like fans could get the content they’ve been asking for. With all that being said, there have been numerous Steam update dumps over the years that have led to nothing, so fans might want to brace themselves.
The fact that numerous files have DLC in them means that FromSoftware is working on Elden Ring DLC. What’s really exciting fans is that some of these files say “playtest” in them, making them think that a demo is coming. FromSoftware games don’t tend to get demos but this has been a popular method of getting people into games lately, so there’s a first time for everything.
Shadow of the Erdtree, the name of this upcoming DLC, has fans everywhere excited, based on the company’s previous entries. Dark Souls 2, Dark Souls 3, and Bloodborne all had very good DLC expansions that gave fans even more content to go through. FromSoftware fans just want new enemies and bosses to fight, which is why everyone’s excited for the upcoming Elden Ring DLC.
Elden Ring is the first time FromSoftware has gone open-world, while also still being a brutally difficult game. There’s no map for the player to check out, as they have to map out everything themselves so they can see their progress. It will be interesting to see what the devs have in store for fans, especially if more enemies, locations, and bosses are added to the open-world.
