While they may not have any massive expansions to dig into quite yet, Elden Ring players are still keeping themselves busy, with the long-awaited Colosseum DLC providing a fresh challenge for many who now consider boss battles to be a walk in the park.

Meanwhile, others are spicing the game up by attempting unorthodox challenge runs that see them attempt incredible feats like beating the likes of Malenia and Radahn on two screens at once.

For those who are not quite up to mastering the dance pad, but still want to find new ways to look at their favourite game, a recent thread on the Elden Ring Reddit might be worth a look, even if you might not agree with its contents.

Do you agree with any of these unpopular Elden Ring opinions?

Said thread is composed of a collection of hot takes from the game’s community, with user UmbraKins having kicked off the melee via a post asking fellow players for their spiciest opinions.

While some Tarnished were sceptical as to how inflammatory these viewpoints would actually be, sorting the thread so that the most controversial comments float to the top reveals some pretty incendiary sentiments.

For example, user stylepointseso declared of the game that: “Being open-world hurt the final product.”, prompting tragicoptimist777 to retort: “Hard disagree. I hope every FromSoft game is open-world from now on. Tons more replayability.”

Meanwhile, some players decided to let loose of certain boss battling strategies, with both user BaconPancaaaakess and SveenysArmory outlining their dislike of spamming spirit summons, the former going so far as to claim: “Summons ruin every boss fight except for some of the really dumb rehashed duo bosses.”

On the other hand, user Zekron_98 singled out a specific boss fight for their hot take, saying: “Malenia is a far better boss than most people think. They just suck at understanding how to approach her. Everyone, including popular streamers, have no clue about how to counter her waterfowl and just call it (unfair) while it's their fault.“

Sadly, these takes paled in comparison to the thread’s most contentious take, which came from user reefer_lord, who declared: “Olfrid Battle-Born is far more annoying than Nazeem.”
