Elden Ring modders make enemies in the Lands Between more aggressive than ever before

For many of the connoisseurs of frustration that roam the plains of Elden Ring, having a terrifyingly difficult time is all just part of the experience.

After all, when you’re trying to beat Malenia using only one hand without rebalancing the game, no amount of humorous messages or tips from other players can really help matters. Neither does imagining that you’re fighting Danny DeVito or Jack Black instead.

However, if you’re someone who revels in the toughest of situations, a new mod might be worth adding to your current cocktail of changes that would ruin the day of any regular player.

Does your Elden Ring experience feel like it needs a touch more rage to spice things up?

The mod in question is simply called ‘Aggression Mod’ and is the work of a group of modders led by FiftyTifty, whose previous work has added more enemy spawn points to Elden Ring and expanded the voiced dialogue of Skyrim’s followers.

This time, they’ve done something truly terrible to drive the game’s enemies into an unbreakable rage, leading them to be a lot more aggressive than normal and seek to take out this righteous anger on The Tarnished.

In practice, this means they won’t retreat if you try to outrun them or wait to be activated in areas like the gate at Stormhill. Instead, they’ll be on your bottom from the get-go and won’t stop harassing you even if you try to run away from them.

Not even hanging out in a group setting will be enough to chill them out, pushing up the chances of being ambushed by a horde at any time through the roof.

FiftyTifty, who sums up the ethos of the mod via the words: “Prepare to die. Nerd.”, recommends pairing it with the aforementioned enemy spawns on if your goal is to create maximum chaos for your poor Tarnished.

That said, there is now a way to make your conscience feel a little cleaner if you do choose to inflict this pain on Elden Ring’s poor protagonist, with another new mod, Tripp426’s ‘Mute Player Voice’, giving you the means to block out their screams.

If that sounds like a good time to you, make sure to grab mod engine 2 first, as this is needed to get both of these mods working in the game.
