Since they finally received the massive DLC announcement they’d all been craving, Elden Ring players have all been basking in the warm glow of knowing that the Shadow of the Erdtree expansion is definitely on its way.

If you’ve been in the mood to watch someone else have a go at the base game in an unorthodox manner, its Twitch community have been putting out runs using everything from Bop-Its, dance pads, and even the electrical activity from their brains to scythe their way through the Lands Between.

However, it now looks as though the FromSoft title’s wider fanbase has decided to give these streamers a run for their money, with a new trend seeing the Draconic Tree Sentinel quickly defeated in a variety of interesting ways.

What’s the weirdest strategy you’ve used to beat Elden Ring’s Draconic Tree Sentinel?

This barrage of brisk boss beatings can be found across a litany of recent posts on the subreddit r/eldenring, all of which seem to share the joke of responding to the idea of a certain trait or tactic making that game’s combat too easy with a video of someone beating the sentinel in a completely different manner.

For example, user Burgerroi declared: “‘Using weapons makes the game too easy’, Shield users:” before sharing a clip of them downing the knight in less than a minute using a build armed with the game’s visage and one eyed shields.

Meanwhile, in another thread, user SeraphenSven demonstrated their ability to get by without levelling up or using ranged weapons by beating the sentinel to death with just their fists at level one, in a display worthy of any Rocky movie.

Some users getting involved in the trend have showcased even more unconventional battles with the poor overworld boss, with user GodefroyTheGrafted posting a video of a YouTuber pushing it off a cliff to prove that builds are unnecessary when you’ve got gravity on your side.

On a similar level of hilarity is the submission of user Tolnin, who looks to have simply opened up a picture of the sentinel in Photoshop and painted a white line over its health bar, to show that actually playing the game somehow makes it too easy.

All of these clips seem to be proving just as popular with the Elden Ring players who’ve chosen to browse the efforts of their peers instead of submitting their own, with user Secret-Aardvark1602 summing up the trend by saying: “As much trouble as Draconic Tree Sentinel gave me on my first play through, it’s incredibly satisfying watching the community perpetually blast him into oblivion.”

Regardless of how excited you are to be able to watch the boss that likely handed you one of your earliest deaths be punished until the end of time, stay tuned for more coverage of some interesting streamers and guides to Shadow of the Erdtree as soon as it arrives.
