Though many fans were initially worried about the show, Fallout's TV adaptation became one of the biggest series on Amazon Prime Video.

The second season of Fallout is currently in production. While no official details have been shared, rumors are circulating that a certain Marvel Studios star has joined the cast.

Kumail Nanjiani Joins Fallout?

According to The InSneider (via @DiscussingFilm), Kumail Nanjiani (Silicon Valley, Eternals) has joined the cast of Fallout for its second season. No details have been revealed about who Nanjiani could be playing, but based on his track record, Nanjiani does get involved with video games and other nerdy franchises.

For context, Nanjiani was recently cast as a fake Jedi con-man in the Obi-Wan Kenobi miniseries. He also provided the voice of an orc general in the Shadow of Mordor games.

Undoubtedly, one of his most memorable roles was Dinesh in HBO’s Silicon Valley, where he played a petty programmer who would get into ridiculous fights with co-worker Gilfoyle (Martin Starr).

Though Nanjiani has mostly been known for his comedy work, he has recently dabbled in some more serious properties. He was the lead of the true crime drama Welcome to Chippendales; and also played the lead in an episode of the Twilight Zone reboot.

When it comes to Fallout, fans can be assured that Nanjiani knows how to play both comedic and serious roles, and with a franchise like Fallout, maybe whoever he’s playing could end up being a bit of both.

No Shortage of Guest Stars

Admittedly, Fallout has been pretty great in securing high-profile guest stars. Fans were surprised when it was revealed that Fred Armisen (SNL) played a DJ in the apocalypse.

The show was also able to get small yet memorable roles for character actors like Matt Berry (What We Do in the Shadows) and Chris Parnell (Rick and Morty, Archer).

Where is Season 2 Going?

The first season's finale pretty much sets up the path for several characters. It was revealed that Vault 33 was part of some huge conspiracy, and the vault is connected to another one that contains a bunch of frozen people—the very same rich executives that caused the Nuclear War.

Now Lucy and the Ghoul are teaming up to find the escaped Hank MacLean and make him answer for his crimes. The last we see of Hank is when he walks toward New Vegas, which players know has its own factions and kooks.

As for Maximus, he’s somehow failed upwards again, and it’s implied that he’s going to rise in the ranks of the Brotherhood of Steel. Even if that’s the case, it’s implied that his real loyalty is to Lucy, and he’ll find a way back to her in the second season.

No release date has been announced for Fallout Season 2, but the series is expected to return sometime in 2026.
