As one of the greatest MMOs in existence, Final Fantasy XIV fans are all gathering together to play through the game’s new Dawntrail expansion. Alongside a host of awesome new content, the new expansion also accidentally created a mutated Super Boss that devastated players.

While Dawntrail’s launch has gone horrendously, similarly to every expansion for the MMO, players who have been able to play the MMO noticed a decade-old boss has been glitched since the expansion’s release.

Amon, the boss of A Realm Reborn’s Syrcus Tower, has been an easy battle since their inception. However, the early raid boss has turned into a nightmare with his instant knockout move Curtain Call.

In the past, players would have to hide behind frozen allies in the form of ice cubes to avoid the instant death attack. However, since Dawntrail’s release, the ice cubes that once protected players have failed to appear. Instead, all players are wiped when hit with Curtain Call.

While many deemed the glitched Super Boss an unbeatable challenge, players banded together to defeat the incredibly hard buggy boy in his cursed state. Via GamesRadar, players devised multiple methods for defeating Amon after finding ways to avoid the Curtain Call wave.

One method involved healers falling just before the attack, allowing players to get a quick res and avoid the instant wipe. After this, a level three Limit Break can be used to revive the entire party, leaving the Super Boss with his mouth agape.

Some players didn’t even bother with tricky healing strategies. Instead, some parties of players decided to use food buffs to crush Amon into the ground before he even had a chance to use his killer move.

At the time of writing, Amon is back to his wimpy self with players now able to hide behind the ice cubes that used to protect them. However, it’s a testament to the power of Final Fantasy 14 players that even a powerful Super Boss has been bullied back to their original self.

Final Fantasy 14 is available to play right now on Xbox, PlayStation and PC. The game's new expansion, Dawntrail, adds a brand-new job and much more for players to enjoy.
