Final Fantasy 7 Remake launches on April 10 on PlayStation 4, and is absolutely stunning to look at.
That beauty comes at a cost though, as the game clocks in as a hefty download.

Final Fantasy 7: Remake File Size
Believe it or not, FF7: Remake will take up over 90GB on your console – almost as big as Red Dead Redemption 2.
That means you'll want to free up some space, or plug an external hard drive into your PS4 or PS4 Pro.
Why so large? In an interview with USGamer, the game's co-director Naoki Hamaguchi explained that "Rather than thinking about repurposing standard assets for individual locations, like the Slums or the Shinra Building, we decided to build each location using unique assets to achieve the quality desired for [Final Fantasy 7 Remake]".
That's a huge undertaking and explains why the game takes up so much hard drive space.
Wondering what these assets are? According to Hamaguchi it's “the backgrounds, [background music] and characters per location, which allowed for a unique gameplay experience in each area, even from a game design perspective.”
Considering the game is only the first part of the retelling of Final Fantasy 7, expect the next part to be similarly mammoth in terms of size.
