March 7, 2023: There are still no signs of For Honor 2 making its way out into the open.

For Honor is Ubisoft’s medieval fantasy action game where players get the chance to use various historical factions and warriors such as the knights, Vikings, and Samurai to duke it out on the battlefield.

The game was released in 2017 and received positive reviews, especially with the game’s technical and original combat mechanics. But even if it garnered success in the past, news of a possible For Honor 2 sequel has been relatively quiet. Admittedly, the game was something of a slow burn and has over time gained a fairly committed fan base.

So will Ubisoft release a sequel on next-gen consoles? Here’s everything you need to know about For Honor 2.

For Honor 2 Release Date

Although there are some rumors about the possibility of a sequel in the future, at the time of writing, Ubisoft has not greenlit or announced a sequel to the game from Ubisoft Montreal.

If there genuinely is something in the works we may expect that it will be available for all latest platforms, including the PS5 and the Xbox Series X/S. It could even form one of these 'free-to-play' titles that Ubisoft seems keen on exploring.

Does Ubisoft Montreal Need To Make For Honor 2?

This is one of the biggest questions really, because for those who don't know, For Honor is developed by Ubisoft Montreal, the same team behind Rainbow Six Siege.

Siege is another game that has steadily grown its fanbase over the years and avoided any temptation of releasing a sequel, instead focussing on new content every couple of months.

As it stands, it could be that For Honor follows suit, opting to instead focus on content updates over a brand new game. Destiny famously released a sequel, and it arguably suffered from a loss in some of its player base.

So it could be the safest bet for Ubisoft is to stick to what they know, especially whilst a committed group of players continues to play the game and spend money on the existing product.
