Fortnite Chapter 6 Season 1's Boons debut, giving players handy passive perks to switch things up.

These items connect to activities such as gathering Sprites, defeating bosses, or opening rare chests.

This article discusses how to grab Boons in Fortnite, Chapter 6, Season 1.

What Are Boons?

Boons are consumable perks that automatically apply buffs to your character as soon as they are picked up.

Unlike typical items, they don’t occupy inventory slots, meaning you can collect multiple Boons in a single match without sacrificing your loadout.

Every Boon has its own twist that could change how things play out. There are four types of Boons in the game, each designed to cater to different playstyles:

  • Wind Boon: Moves you quicker with the pickaxe, great for fast rotations or getting out of tight spots.
  • Water Boon: Restores health and shields you and your nearby teammates while swimming.
  • Fire Boon: Cuts down reload time, giving you the upper hand in heated combat.
  • Void Boon: Shows the positions of nearby players once you take down an opponent.

You can grab Boons in three ways, and each method brings something different to the table:

1. Sprite Shrines and Sprites

One of the best ways to collect Boons is by visiting Sprite Shrines around the map.

Sprites are tiny mystical beings that wander through the map, typically in secluded, untamed regions far from key locations.

They are categorized into three types:

  • Air Sprite: When thrown, this creates a vortex, which can be used for redeployment or damaging enemy structures.
  • Water Sprite: Provides healing for shields and health.
  • Earth Sprite: Consumes items and rewards players with valuable loot.

To turn a Sprite into a Boon, take it to a Sprite Shrine scattered around the map.

Once you return a Sprite to the Shrine, it'll activate and drop some loot along with a Boon related to the Sprite.

For example, giving an Air Sprite will reward you with the Wind Boon.

If you're carrying a Sprite, locating Shrines is simple, as your HUD will show a marker for the nearest one. Here are a few Shrine spots:

  • Magic Mosses
  • Canyon Crossing and Warrior’s Watch
  • Shogun’s Solitude
  • Masked Meadows and Foxy Floodgate

2. Defeating Bosses

Boss encounters have been revamped in Chapter 6, and some of these battles offer the opportunity to obtain Boons.

When you take down bosses like Shogun X and Night Rose, they drop Boons.

The Boons they drop depend on the boss and are usually random. Expect fierce fights with bosses who possess high health and deliver powerful attacks.

3. Looting Elemental Chests

Elemental Chests are another way to pick up Boons. These special chests stand out due to their distinct glow and can be found across the map.

There's a chance for Boons to drop, but the loot is unpredictable. While this approach is more straightforward, it’s not as reliable for collecting them.

Open as many Elemental Chests as possible throughout your match for the best results.

Boons stick around for the match and even survive a reboot in team modes, so you still get their perks.

Thanks to their passive nature, you can concentrate on the gameplay without needing to manage them in your inventory.
