Fortnite might be the hottest gaming IP right now, as the free-to-play battle royale is also home to LEGO Fortnite, Fortnite Festival, and Rocket Racing. Just in case fans were worried about these extra modes being limited-time extras, Epic Games has said these new modes aren’t going anywhere.
On Twitter, the battle royale’s official account was quick to confirm that these games are here to stay and won’t be LTMs (limited-time modes). Like the battle royale, these titles are home to, fans can expect these games to get regular updates and new additions regularly.
“Howdy, friends,” the Twitter account said. “Seeing some chatter around our newly launched games and people worried that they may not stick around. To clarify: these are brand new games entirely—not LTM’s.”
That’s great news for fans of Fortnite and these new games, especially since they offer something different from the free-to-play shooter. Some fans prefer these new games when compared to the battle royale, as they offer different gameplay that’s set in the same universe.
LEGO Fortnite, the most popular of these games thus far, is a bit more popular than the original battle royale. The LEGO variant currently has more players playing the game right now, showing what new gameplay a familiar franchise can offer. Despite the name, LEGO Fortnite is a survival sim with crafting and combat, letting fans build what they want and fight massive monsters.
Music fans are also enjoying Fortnite Festival, which is essentially Guitar Hero, but with all of the guest characters from the battle royale. Harmonix, the developers of Guitar Hero, are even working on the game, making it a match made in heaven.
Rocket Racing is also well-liked by fans since it does come from the developers of Rocket League. While not as in-depth, gamers who just want some fun arcade-style racing will have plenty of fun here.
