Microsoft has given an update on which games are supported on Valve's Steam Deck, but there's bad news for Halo fans. While most Xbox Game Studios titles are compatible - eight are listed as "Verified", while another six are "Playable" - it doesn't support Gears 5, Halo: The Master Chief Collection, Halo Infinite, and Microsoft Flight Simulator X.
Only a short explanation was given as to why, confirming that's due to anti-cheat systems. It's only a brief mention at the post's end, so we don't know if Microsoft ever plans to offer an update or workaround for these games.
Halo Infinite and Gears 5 Aren't Supported on Steam Deck
Otherwise, there's a good selection of Xbox Game Studios titles available. With the fully "Verified," you can find Deathloop, Psychonauts 2, Hellblade: Senua’s Sacrifice, and five more. As for "Playable," that includes big names like Forza Horizon 5, Sea of Thieves, and Fallout 4.
Valve launched Steam Deck late last month, releasing through a gradual rollout to anyone who's pre-ordered the system. We're bringing you further news on Halo's next event soon, and if there's any change to Steam Deck support for these games, we'll keep you updated.
