Halo Infinite has a ton of weapons in its armoury. It's 2022 now, and we've been working hard to stay on top of the very best weapons Halo Infinite has to offer for our tier list.
We've been grinding away, loving every minute of it, and are confident enough now to make you a handy tier list of the best guns in Halo Infinite. Of course, not all of these are available on every single map, but it's worth having this list on hand to check and see if your current gun could do with being swapped out.
So then, here are all the best guns in Halo Infinite, ranked for your convenience!
The best Halo Infinite weapons
So, here are the very best of the best in Halo Infinite. Don't worry if you can't get hold of them - some of these weapons are 'Power Weapons' and thus are only available on a timer. Still, you should grab them when at all possible.
M41 SPNKR
The missing third letter is an 'A', not a 'U', apparently. The M41 SPNKR is an absolutely outrageous gun. Essentially a rocket launcher, you get two shots with this thing before having to reload, and it essentially offers you a couple of free kills for your trouble if you hit near enough to an enemy. Grab it when you get the chance.
If you're looking to improve your SPNK-ing, check out our helpful Halo Infinite M41 SPNKR guide to use it better.
S7 Sniper
This sniper can zoom in at two different distances and offers a one-shot headshot if you can land it. In a game with a time-to-kill as slow as Halo Infinite, this is a seriously strong gun to have, utterly dominating cross-map engagements.
We have some helpful tips on the S7 Sniper in Halo Infinite too, so give those a look to help you improve with it.
Energy Sword
The Energy Sword is a savage at close range. You'll get a lot more range than standard melee attacks too, lunging forward to strike foes down with the Energy Sword and dealing huge damage in the process. Keep an eye out for when your reticule changes colour to red and attack then - it'll take them down in one.
Have a look at our handy Halo Infinite Energy Sword guide for more info on the weapon.
Skewer
In Big Team Battle or other maps where vehicles are available, the Skewer is a real treat to use. It deals a great deal of damage to vehicles, as well as one-shotting enemies. You can only fire one time before a reload but hit that shot, and you're golden.
Halo Infinite high-tier weapons
These guns aren't game-changingly powerful but work excellently as weapons to trundle around with and rely on.
Shock Rifle
This is a slightly strange weapon, as it works a lot better when you're supporting teammates from afar. By hitting an enemy, the shock chain spreads to their friendlies too, meaning you'll deal a ridiculous amount of damage when firing at a room full of people. It's a high-damage gun even outside of that though.
For a bit more intel, our Halo Infinite Shock Rifle guide will give you tips and tricks on using the gun.
VK78 Commando
The VK78 Commando is what you wish you were given at the start of a match. It's accurate, powerful, and allows you to take out enemies from across the map. If you're sitting there rueing the poor performance of your AR, look no further.
It's a real treat, and to maximise your ability with this gun, you can go ahead and check out our Halo Infinite VK78 Commando guide.
Heatwave
The Heatwave is an interesting gun, offering shotgun-like performance at close ranges with the unique ability to change your shell orientation between a horizontal and vertical spread. The bullets also ricochet, letting you take out baddies without even hitting them.
We have more advice in our Halo Infinite Heatwave guide too!
Mangler
This thing fires fast-moving spikes at medium ranges. It looks a bit like a shotgun, but it's actually a revolver-type weapon, so you have to be pretty accurate with it. If you are though, it'll do a great job for you.
The reason it's up in the high tier? The melee damage. With the Mangler, you get a one-shot, one-melee kill, which is devastating if you can close the distance on your foes. Give it a try with some tips from our Halo Infinite Mangler guide.
Halo Infinite mid-tier weapons
The bulk of Halo Infinite's guns sit in this category. They're solid choices, but ones you could improve on if you're lucky or smart in finding other weapons around the map.
Ravager
Another area-of-effect weapon, the Ravager shoots powerful plasma shots in piles of three. Strong in close quarters, you can also charge the gun to leave a pile of hot fire in an area, damaging those who walk through it.
It's a fun one to use and could help you get multi-kills in a small area, potentially giving you a chance to win a Mythic Medal. If you want to learn a bit more about how to use it, check out our helpful Halo Infinite Ravager guide.
Gravity Hammer
The Gravity Hammer is an all-time favourite for Halo fans. Whilst it isn't quite as dominant as it could be, it still offers a one-shot kill potential when you're close up, beaten by nothing but the Energy Sword when unexpected. Unfortunately, though, this one-shot range doesn't extend out far enough, and you're in for a long wind-up for follow-up shots.
The Gravity Hammer is a powerhouse in general though, and we have some great Halo Infinite Gravity Hammer tips.
Sentinel Beam
This gun is a continuously-firing beam weapon, fantastic at stripping shields off your enemies. As long as you're a good shot and can keep the beam on the baddie, this gun will do very nicely.
It's a favourite gun to use in the campaign, but for multiplayer use, try our Halo Infinite Sentinel Beam guide.
Stalker Rifle
The Stalker Rifle is a difficult weapon to use thanks to its slow projectile speed, but if you can make it work and strike your moving targets, it does a fantastic job keeping its damage values at longer ranges.
If you're struggling with using the gun successfully, our handy guide on the Stalker Rifle is here to help.
Mk50 Sidekick
The default secondary weapon actually performs better than the AR in a lot of cases! It's a pretty standard gun, but with a fast trigger finger and decent aim, you'll be getting kills from a shocking range with the Sidekick.
Fancy a guide for using the Mk50 Sidekick properly? Just check out our Mk50 Sidekick guide for an in-depth look at the weapon.
CQS48 Bulldog
An easy two-shot kill at close range, the only reason the Bulldog doesn't make it into high tier is its lack of a one-shot option. It'll always get beaten out by an Energy Sword or Gravity Hammer but beats almost everything else up close.
You can improve more with the Halo Infinite Bulldog guide we've put together for you too!
Disruptor
This energy pistol deals damage over time, meaning you want to be hitting enemies with it while they're not hitting you. It gives you a higher chance of winning the longer the scrap goes on.
We have a full guide for the Halo Infinite Disruptor if you want a bit more information on the gun too!
Cindershot
This is a grenade launcher that deals really good damage in a small area. You can even control its location by moving your sights while zoomed in if you want some precision grenade action. Use it when baddies are holed up in a room to flush them out.
Here are some more tips on how to use the Cindershot if you fancy learning a little more, too!
Pulse Carbine
The Pulse Carbine isn't too easy to use, but with a bit of practice, it can do a really good job at close range. When you're in the weapon's RRR, it two-shot kills thanks to the plasma energy-sapping shields extremely quickly, although the bullet velocity is pretty slow, and it's easy to miss.
For some top tips on wielding this gun to the best of its ability, why not check out our Halo Infinite Pulse Carbine guide too!
BR75 Battle Rifle
It's accurate but not up to the standard set by the Commando rifle. It's solid at medium ranges but isn't anything special, and you might struggle with the 3-round burst rate of fire.
We have a super helpful guide on the Halo Infinite Battle Rifle too, so give that a look if you want to improve with it!
Halo Infinite low-tier guns
These aren't the greatest. Of course, every weapon has a chance to do well in the hands of a good player, but for us, these lower-tier weapons just don't do it at the current moment in Halo Infinite.
Hydra
This rocket launcher looks like a genuine treat. A rapid-fire launcher that can home in on enemies? Sign us up! Unfortunately, the homing feature just doesn't work on Spartans with decent movement and strafing, whilst the dumb-fire rockets don't do nearly enough damage to be viable and reliable.
For more advice on improving with the Hydra, here's our Halo Infinite Hydra guide too!
Needler
Oh, Needler. You're such a cool and fun gun to use. It's just a shame you're so unreliable. The individual needles do hardly any damage but hit seven of them, and your enemy will suffer a heavily damaging explosion. Sounds great! However, the needles are so hard to actually hit, and by the time you've hit enough of them, your enemy might well have punched you to death.
It's worth grabbing for some situations though, and we've put together a Halo Infinite Needler guide to help you improve with it.
MA40 AR
The default weapon you start with is a bit of a pea-shooter. It's hard to deal solid damage with this without reloading in between, and the accuracy bloom just doesn't cut the mustard from across a map. It's such a shame, but we suppose the MA40 AR's poor performance is an encouragement for players to branch out a bit.
It's a gun you'll be using a whole lot though, so here's our Halo Infinite MA40 AR guide.
Plasma Pistol
It's just a weak weapon, unfortunately. It deals somewhat solid damage against shields, but not to the extent of its other energy weapon counterparts, and the charge shot has such an excruciatingly slow travel time that your opponent could make Halo Infinite and delay it a year before they get hit by the thing. Something's always got to be the worst gun, and that dubious honour goes, for the moment, to the Plasma Pistol.
We do have a bit of handy advice for you if you're looking to try this gun though - check out our Plasma Pistol guide for hints and tricks!
