Are those annoying guys with blue projectiles getting on your nerves in Ghostrunner 2? You're not alone: other enemies have the good sense to let you block and slash, but these machine gun guys just don't stop firing. In this guide, we'll explain how to beat machine gunners in Ghostrunner 2.
The beauty of the Ghostrunner games is that you'll adapt and become an incredibly effective killer, or die many times trying. Death comes quickly, but with those speedy loading times you'll be right back into the chaos before your cyborg body's meaty bits go cold. Annoying enemies like the machine gun guys can make the whole exercise feel miserable, though, with the deaths piling up.

How to beat machine gunners in Ghostrunner 2
Machine gunners are a real annoyance if you primarily use your katana, so the best way to deal with machine gunners in Ghostrunner 2 is by using a shuriken. You'll still need to be fairly close, but when blocking quickly depletes your stamina and trying to dodge is unreliable, the shuriken is your best friend.
Granted, you'll only unlock the shuriken after completing some early missions, so the second-best option is to deflect their projectiles with a perfect parry. This requires precise timing—you need to block right before the projectile hits—but the upgrades below can help.
- Smooth Moves - projectile deflection becomes 'much easier'
- Smart Deflect - deflected projectiles return to sender automatically
Avoiding machine gunners' projectiles is the real challenge, however, and trying to block will quickly empty your stamina bar. To dodge more effectively, dash out of the way or jump and hold the dash button to slow down time and swerve around the bullets.

Machine gunners are still weak to katanas, of course. For a melee kill, wait until they've stopped firing. You'll then have a very short window of opportunity to close the gap and cut them into pieces for some much-needed peace and quiet.
That's everything you need to know about dealing with those dastardly machine gunners! Before you go, be sure to check out our guides to dealing with the first boss and parrying effectively.
