Cygames and Arc System Works have announced the first batch of DLC content for Granblue Fantasy Versus Rising, with Nier Automata's 2B being confirmed as the game's first guest character despite the game only having been released just a few days ago.

During the Granblue Fantasy Fest, a celebration of the franchise as a whole, the season 1 roadmap was unveiled, with a total of six characters dropping throughout 2024, including Nier's 2B as the game's second DLC.

Alongside the reveal of the full roadmap for 2024, a trailer dropped to hype the upcoming release of 2B, who is slated to be playable in Granblue Fantasy Versus Rising in late February.

It's quite a spectacular trailer, showcasing the flashy style of 2B's moves which certainly look top quality, at least visually, with the android flailing her massive sword and using her little

The roadmap also states that five more characters will come to GBVSR during 2024: Lucilus on January 16, Vane in April, Beatrix in May, and two more unannounced ones in August and October respectively.

On top of that, there will be multiple updates including new stages, in-game features, improvements to online lobbies, bonus story content, a new core game mode, and even more mini-games for the lobby and Grand Bruise, an in-game extra mode akin to Fall Guys.

Of course, expect some buffs and nerfs to the roster, with some mechanic adjustments also a possibility. However, these were not detailed so it's hard to say when we can expect a patch of this nature to drop.

Overall, it seems the developers have a solid plan to retain a healthy player base this time around.

It'll be hard to compete with the upcoming Tekken 8 on top of the likes of Guilty Gear Strive, Street Fighter 6, and Mortal Kombat 1, all who have massive fanbases, but with the addition of 2B, it seems Granblue will attract some eyes to them.
