GTA 6 is certainly the game on everybody's lips and yet there is still so much uncertainty on what it will be and what it will include - as we transition to a next-generation console, will the new GTA feature Cross-Platform play?

Will GTA 6 Be Cross-Platform?
Cross-platform play is becoming an increasingly popular way of uniting all players of that particular game.
We have seen the inclusion of cross-platform play most recently on Call of Duty: Modern Warfare, uniting the frequently isolated PC community with the console community; which has been supported a lot more than the PC side of the game.
In contrast, this is not the case for players of GTA.
Both console and PC communities have thriving scenes offering wide and diverse ways of playing the game.
One benefit of GTA on the PC is the ability to create mods for the game. Including cross-platform play could open up the potential of mods becoming available for console players, something that has never happened in the history of the franchise.
Is It Down To Rockstar?
In some cases, the lack of cross-platform play hasn't had anything to do with the developers of the game.
It often boils down to the likes of Sony and Microsoft setting aside their differences (and the console war) to do what's right by the people that buy the games and want to be able to play with anyone and everyone across every possible platform.
Yes, Rockstar Games will likely have a say on whether GTA 6 will include cross-platform play but it is uncertain as to whether it will open up the GTA world for everyone to enjoy on every platform that the game will be available on.
