A GTA Legend Will Not Return

Chris Bellard, who plays the lead character Carl ‘CJ’ Johnson, in 2004's Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas responded recently to rumours that he'll be returning to reprise his role in GTA 6. in the 2004 game.

Unexpectedly, he not only debunked these rumours but also took a swipe at Rockstar Games in the process.

No official statement or announcement has been made about the game being in development, but the growing number of rumours would suggest we will see it soon enough.

Bellard, also known for his rapping under the alias Young Malay, made it clear that he has no intentions of returning to the franchise.

Posting a screenshot of an article suggesting that CJ might be returning, Bellard wrote:

“To kill the rumors! I’m not involved in GTA VI at all. F**k @Rockstargames period… CJ will have to be voiced by another MF but not me IDGAF what y’all heard.”

So Who Could Return To GTA 6?

Although a clearly disgruntled Chris Bellard may not be returning to GTA, that doesn't necessarily mean that CJ will not - he could be replaced or appear in an unscripted form.

The game has already been leaked and rumoured to visit familiar locations such as Liberty City and Vice City.

We could see the return of iconic characters such as Claude (GTA 3), Tommy Vercetti (GTA Vice City) or Niko Bellic (GTA 4).

Even if they do not make a physical appearance, they could be implemented as an easter egg; Rockstar have been known to implement easter eggs into their games.
