We've been waiting for the day that the development of GTA 6 was in process and it looks like we have had that confirmed. The latest confirmation has come thanks to TaxWatch UK.
It has been reported that the studio applied for a huge tax relief sum from HMRC, to subsidise the costs of the games it worked on between 2018-2019.
What's interesting is that the report stated the reason the number was so high was due to the "production of the next edition of GTA".
GTA 6 In Development?
In the past year, Rockstar North claimed £37.6m in Video Games Tax Relief and in the five years since the scheme has launched has claimed a total of £80m.
This news comes off the back of a rumour that parent company Take-Two Interactive is pushing Rockstar for a more frequent release cycle after the company's output dropped massively in the past decade.
According to Rockstar YouTuber SWEGTA, Take-Two want more Rockstar games on the market, which could pave the way for old franchises to resurface.

The lack of published games hasn't gone unnoticed from players, GTA 5 launched in 2013 and we've seen few titles since.
Its validation is also cemented by the fact that Take-Two CEO Strauss Zelnick stressed last year that although annualising titles and releasing them too frequently dilutes the power of big releases, waiting "eight years is probably too long" between franchise instalments.
