GTA 6: Will There Be A Female Main Character In Grand Theft Auto 6?

GTA has introduced us to a colourful cast of characters in its franchise history and we're expecting the main characters in GTA 6 to be no different.

GTA 5 was the first time that we were able to play as THREE protagonists in Franklin, Trevor and Michael.

Could we finally see a female main character feature in GTA 6, and if so what do we know about her thus far?

Will There Be A Female Main Character In GTA 6?

Female characters have played a massive role in the story of GTA games, but they have yet to take on the role of protagonist and lead the story's narrative.

It's hard to understand why they've yet to feature in this way, but that might be about to change. Rumours started to circulate last year that a female protagonist was on the way.

While no further details about this are available, many are hoping this is true. There have been suggestions that the female lead will play the role of a gangsta.

Sources suggested that the next game will be scaled back to feature just two characters, a male and female.

Watching the story unfold from these two different perspectives could make for an incredible narrative. GTA 5's story was so successful due to the fact that three characters came together, from different backgrounds, to reach a common goal. Adding a gender diversity to this mix will help keep the story fresh and certainly add a unique spin.

Perhaps we could have a Romeo and Juliet story unfold - two characters from opposing gangs, who are discouraged from seeing each other, eventually fall in love and work to conquer the city together and stop the gang wars.

Another idea follows the Mr and Mrs Smith story, with two lovers leading secret lives and it all comes to a massive collision in the end; perhaps you (the player) have to decide who you stand with. This would certainly play into the choice ending Rockstar Games has implemented into the past two GTA games. The possibilities are endless.
