While some GTA players are still trying to enjoy everything that Los Santos has to offer by getting up to wacky hijinks and spending all of their hard-earned cash, others are already looking forward to GTA 6.

For some, this has involved coming up with potential ideas for its soundtrack, working out how many different difficulty options they’d like it to include or intensely debating how much its map should ideally remind them of GTA San Andreas.

However, it seems some fans on Reddit have already moved on to the next step in the process, discussing how they intend to approach their first playthrough of the game when they get their hands on it.

Have you started planning out how you’ll approach GTA 6?

This deliberation is the subject of a recent thread on the GTA 6 subreddit, which began with a post from user KarlAlrik, who asked: “How are you approaching (your) first playthrough?”, before outline the ruleset they plan to adopt, which they are currently testing out in Red Dead Redemption 2.

Among the rules of this strategy are turning off the vast majority of the game’s HUD in order to allow for maximum immersion, turning off aim assist and trying to wander the world blindly, getting into whichever missions or hijinks they stumble across.

The issue of how to approach exploring the map proved to be the thread’s most hotly debated subject, with some users suggesting they plan to go off and delve into Vice City and its surroundings as soon as they’ve got a couple of missions under their belts.

On the other hand, some outlined their preference to reveal the map bit by bit as they work through the game’s missions, with user Wolverine78 saying: “I can understand (the) urge to explore the map, but I think it will feel more natural if the map is discovered gradually while playing the story.”

Meanwhile, user JumpinJahosafax suggested that whichever of these options they pick they’re going to savour every moment of gameplay, saying: “I’ll absolutely play it very slowly. Possibly just a mission a day. It’s the Haley’s comet of video games.”
