Though its weekly updates over the past few months have been a bit hit and miss in the minds of hardcore players, there are still plenty of criminals running around GTA Online’s world.
A fair few of these veteran felons had hoped that June’s San Andreas Mercenaries update would help ignite a major resurgence for the game, but unfortunately many were left frustrated by the DLC’s removal of a massive array of vehicles from in-game websites.
Thankfully for those who’ve long had their sights set on the series’ next entry, Take-Two’s latest earnings report has reiterated some financial plans for the near future which could potentially hint at GTA 6’s release window.
Are you hoping GTA 6 will arrive by March 2025?
With the publisher having previously ignited speculation about the release timeline of the game via a press release put out alongside a yearly earnings report back in May, Take-Two Interactive’s latest earnings report has included some similarly lofty projections for the near future.
In the report, which covered the first quarter of the fiscal year ending in March 2024, Take-Two CEO and chairman Strauss Zelnick suggested that the company has high expectations for the fiscal year of 2025, which will run from April 2024 to March 2025.
“We remain confident that we are positioning our business for a significant inflection point in fiscal 2025, which we believe will include new record levels of operating performance,” Zelnick said in a statement released alongside the report (thanks, VGC).
Naturally this comment, much like those included in that May press release, has added more fuel to ongoing speculation that one of reasons behind the publisher’s financial confidence for this period could be that it’ll feature the release of GTA 6.
This has inspired some more speculation from fans regarding when the first official teasers or trailers for the game, which Rockstar confirmed to be in “active development” back in February 2022, could arrive.
Based on the assumption of a gap of around a year between the start of the game’s marketing cycle and its actual release date, one fan on Reddit has predicted that this could happen anytime between now and March 2024.
Obviously, this is still all just conjecture at this point, so it’s definitely best to wait for Take-Two to release official word regarding a release date for the next entry in the GTA series, or a trailer for it, before you get excited.
One thing the publisher has acknowledged is the $50 price point for its recently announced Red Dead Redemption port for PS4 and Nintendo Switch, with Zelnick telling IGN that Take-Two thinks this is “commercially accurate.”
