Take-Two CEO Says GTA Definitive Edition "Has Just Done Great"

Despite the GTA Definitive Edition trilogy's controversial, bug-filled release, Take-Two CEO Strauss Zelnick said the collection "has done just great" for the company.

During an interview with CNBC (thanks NME), Zelnick was asked about his thoughts on the GTA trilogy's launch, where he called the game's numerous issues at and after launch a "glitch."

“With regards to the GTA Trilogy, that was actually not a new title," he said. "That was a remaster of pre-existing titles. We did have a glitch in the beginning, that glitch was resolved. And the title has done just great for the company."

Zelnick also expressed his excitement about Take-Two's new venture by acquiring mobile games developer Zynga:

"We have an amazing pipeline going forward. Zynga has an incredible pipeline going forward. And together, we think we can do a whole lot more than what’s already been announced.”

The Zynga acquisition means we could be seeing more GTA on mobile in the future, and not just mobile ports of existing games.

As for other GTA news, rumours suggest that the new-gen GTA V versions for PS5 and Xbox Series X/S would most likely be delayed again, with April or May 2022 as the possible dates. Make sure to follow us for more gaming news and updates as it happens.
