Rockstar Games has confirmed that the first trailer for GTA VI will be shown in “early December,” with impatient fans wanting to know the exact details. While we still don’t know when in December the trailer will be shown, some Twitter activity from Geoff Keighley makes us think it’s bound for The Game Awards.
Fans on the Gaming Leaks and Rumours subreddit have noticed how Keighley has been liking tweets that hint at a possible trailer for The Game Awards. Obviously, a like doesn’t necessarily mean confirmation, but Keighley’s show has always been home to big announcements and this could be one of them.
It’s also worth noting that The Game Awards will be taking place on December 7, which lines up with Rockstar’s statement about “early December.” Based on the information we have, it seems that the stars are aligning for the first GTA VI trailer to premiere during this show.
Last year’s show actually had a ton of announcements, like the confirmation of Armored Core VI, the Final Fantasy XVI release date, and the reveal of Hades 2. We can imagine that GTA VI could be the final major announcement of the show since we don’t think other games have the same amount of hype. Maybe a remake of Jak and Daxter, but it’s still pretty close.
Only time will tell if we actually get the trailer during this show, so fans shouldn’t have too much hope regarding that announcement. Hopefully, we get other meaningful trailers that will get us fans excited, alongside Keighley and his crew picking the right winners for this year’s Game Awards.
GTA VI has been rumoured for a while now and fans have been impatiently waiting for this new entry. Throughout the years, we’ve been bombarded with re-releases of Grand Theft Auto V, which is a great game, but one that came out in the PS3 and Xbox 360 era, so its age is showing. While GTA Online is still pretty popular, enough time has passed for a new installment.
