Looking for plant life in the realm of the dead? This guide on how to get Moss in Hades 2 will help you get the job done.

Hades 2 introduces players to a new protagonist, new weapons, and new ways of procuring resources. The materials you find in the Underworld will help Melinoe on her mission, so you should always be on the lookout for these items. One of the particularly tricky ones in Hades 2, moss, is used for many different important things throughout the game.

Most importantly, having Moss in Hades 2 will allow you to travel safely to certain areas and upgrade the many Hades 2 Weapon Aspects, something you’ll need to do to get past the game’s more challenging bosses. So, let’s go ahead and find out how to get your hands on this reagent.

How to Get Moss in Hades 2

You can get Moss in Hades 2 by harvesting it in the surface world of Olympus. It is not available in the Underworld like other plants. No tools are needed for this so go ahead and just grab a handful as soon you find some. It looks like a large, green pile on the ground with a slight glow, so it's hard to miss.

Expect to die soon after obtaining Moss the first couple of times since Melinoe is unable to stay on the surface for an extended period. Fortunately, some Moss can be found not far from where you enter the surface. This is all a part of the moss-gathering process and will be worth a few deaths in the long run.

If you can't yet travel to Olympus, then you will have to progress further through the main story. Keep trying your hand at the Underworld and its many bosses, and you will soon be able to break the barrier to Olympus with an incantation.

What is Moss Used For in Hades 2?

The most notable use for Moss in Hades 2 is to complete the incantation for Unraveling a Fateful Bond. This incantation will allow Melinoe to stay up on the surface indefinitely. You will need two Moss along with the other materials to complete the incantation.

You’ll also need Moss to unlock and upgrade the Argent Skull, Aspect of Persephone. Only one Moss is needed for the requirement to unlock this Weapon Aspect, but you’re going to want more if you plan on upgrading it.
