With many fans from different Xbox generations, Halo is possibly one of the most popular and recognized franchises from Xbox. From the first Halo way back in 2001 to the more recent Halo: Infinite, Master Chief and the Spartans have come a long way. If you are one of the veteran fans from the first game, you are in for a treat.

Anyone can now download Halo 1's earlier builds before it became a first-person shooter. Shared by @VinciusMedeiro6 on X, a short clip of the game featured some gameplay, locations, as well as several vehicles found in the first game.

You can download the game without having to run it via an emulator since these downloadable versions are Windows builds. Just select the build you want and install it as a normal executable file. You can download Halo 1 third-person here.

Many fans of the franchise are excited that they can now play the very first game in the third-person, a feature that was not included in the final build of the game. Some say it feels better but others think that it's a good thing that Bungie went with the first-person route.

The game looks ancient, reminiscent of those games released during that time. Graphics may look outdated but Bungie did a great job in creating a universe and franchise that many fans will love for generations to come.

343 Industries will not continue Halo's legacy and develop future Halo games using Unreal Engine 5, making it more visually stunning with vibrant lightning and shadows. While the first Halo game may be retro compared to the upcoming Halo games, it is undeniably a masterpiece that many gamers will now be able to play thanks to the available third-person builds.
