Harry Potter returns with the reveal of the Harry Potter Quidditch Champions release date during Summer Games Fest 2024.

Developed by Portkey Games and Warner Bros, the two companies teamed up before and created a massively successful game with Hogwarts Legacy. It was so successful that it even outdid Warner Bros' other game, Suicide Squad: Kill The Justice League.

This time around, however, players will not be dealing with magical repercussions within an RPG narrative but something a lot more sports-based. Yes, we're talking about the biggest magical sport around in the Harry Potter setting: Quidditch. It is really just some people flying around on brooms trying to catch a ball—fantasy football, if you will.

Regardless, our guide hub for Harry Potter Quidditch Champions will answer all your questions about the game's upcoming release, as well as update fans on all of the latest news.

Harry Potter Quidditch Champions release date

The Harry Potter Quidditch Champions release date was revealed at the Summer Games Fest to be September 3, 2024.

With the release date being so soon, fans of this magical universe won't have to wait long before they have to deal with astroturf, chasers, snitches, and so much more.

You can watch the release date trailer for Harry Potter Quidditch Champions below.

Harry Potter Quidditch Champions platforms

Harry Potter Quidditch Champions will be available for all modern platforms: PC, PS5, Xbox Series X/S, and Nintendo Switch. Remarkably, the game will also be available to play on older consoles, such as the PS4 and Xbox One.

No matter what platform you're rocking, you'll be able to take a swing with the beater's bat.

Is Harry Potter Quidditch Champions single-player?

Harry Potter Quidditch Champions is a multiplayer experience. Players can team up with friends in online co-op and player vs. player (PvP) matches. However, Portkey Games has confirmed that you can also play the game solo.

Considering that it's based on Quidditch, a team sport, it wouldn't be out of the question for this game to be entirely multiplayer or co-op. That being said, the game allowing single players does give more opportunities for players who prefer to play by themselves.

Harry Potter Quidditch Champions Story

At the time of writing, there has been no indication on what sort of story to expect from Harry Potter Quidditch Champions.

Of course, we can speculate if the game will even have a story mode by looking at the reveal trailer from Summer Games Fest in early June. In it, we see multiple recognizable characters from Viktor Krum to Harry Potter himself.

What we also see are some of the more memorable matches throughout the Harry Potter series, such as the Quidditch World Cup in The Goblet of Fire, as well as the iconic Draco vs. Harry in the first movie, The Philosopher's Stone.

What makes us even more convinced that a lot of the story will be based around matches in the Harry Potter series is that the reveal is narrated by Ginny Weasley. She ends up joining the team later on as a Chaser and Seeker, and even goes on to become a professional Quidditch player for the Holyhead Harpies. Could this mean we'll follow her journey throughout the game? Only time will tell.

Harry Potter Quidditch Champions Gameplay

Harry Potter Quidditch Champions has not revealed any gameplay trailers or videos so far, so we do not have a confirmed idea of what Quidditch gameplay will be like.

Of course, we can openly speculate what to expect from Harry Potter Quidditch Champions by comparing it to the only other Quidditch video game, Quidditch World Cup -- a game released back in 2003. In that game, players only had two objectives: score with the Quaffle in the enemy team's goal, and catch the Golden Snitch.

With that in mind, we assume the game from Portkey will be similar.
