Hideo Kojima’s upcoming Death Stranding movie may have found a perfect studio to work with, as A24 has confirmed they’re working with Kojima Productions. No other details on the project were announced, but it’s good to know Kojima is working with a studio that will tolerate his more eccentric side.

After some rumours made the rounds online, A24 confirmed that they are working with Kojima to make this trippy game’s film adaptation a reality. In addition to the movie becoming a reality, A24 is also hyping up new merch based on the game, showing that they’re going all in with this.

This seems like the perfect medium for Death Stranding because, let’s be honest, that game already feels cinematic, with some arguing it’s just a long film. Granted, it’s a lot longer than a movie, so some would argue it’s more of a series, but the point stands that it’s barely a video game at times.

Fans of Kojima are far from shocked about Kojima wanting to make a movie since he’s always been honest about wanting to make one. Anyone who’s played his Metal Gear Solid games knows that he’s a huge movie buff, so this was bound to happen. He even hired Keifer Sutherland to be Big Boss once and that would lead to even more Hollywood actors appearing in his games.

Death Stranding might be his most cinematic video game yet, given all of the major celebrities who have appeared in it. Kojima is bringing in even more celebrities in his upcoming Xbox project OD, which also has the involvement of Get Out director Jordan Peele. We’re interested in seeing how this game translates to film and if it will feel like a rushed version of the game or something else entirely.
