How to make money fast in Hogwarts Legacy - Gold grinding methods

There are a few methods that are all viable for making gold quickly in the game. There isn't necessarily a "farming" strategy per se, but you'll be able to get larger injections of Galleons by using some of these methods.

Open Eyeball chests

Eyeball chests are scattered around the world, so be on the lookout. You won't be able to open them as soon as you start the game, but it won't be long before you learn what you need to open them up. Each one gives you 500 gold, and there's no shortage of them.

Beast selling

Any beasts that you capture or breed can be sold for a fair bit of coin. Precious beasts can be sold at Brood and Peck in Hogsmeade.

Sell gear

This is by far the best option for making quick money. Any gear that gets replaced with new upgrades can be sold for a flat amount based on rarity. You keep the appearance of any gear you collect, so you can sell it without consequence.

That's much better than just destroying it, but you will have to head to a shop. Any shop, but prying yourself away from a dungeon or obscure place in the castle just to open another chest can be hard.

PS5 Exclusive - Make your own shop

While normal shops will give you a flat rate for your gear, you can actually get a quest to make your own shop, giving you a 10% boost to your gains. But sadly, this is PS5 exclusive, and we don't know if this will eventually come to other platforms.

Charge for your services

While not consistent, there are a number of sidequests in Hogwarts Legacy that actually let you charge for your services at the end. A good example is Garreth's quest to steal from sweets shop. Go back to him with what he asked for, and you can charge a fee. He'll pay.
