As the Destined One, Stances help you in your Black Myth: Wukong journey.

They provide various new offensive and defensive abilities to enhance your combat skills.

While you can stay loyal to one stance, learning to switch between them according to the situation can save you from a lot of trouble.

Apart from granting you more offensive and defensive abilities, there are skill trees for each stance. These are upgradable, adding more buff to your character’s overall build.

Read on to learn how to change stances in Black Myth: Wukong.

How Many Stances Are There & How to Unlock Them?

In your journey as the Destined One, you start with one stance initially—the Smash Stance.

However, there are three other you should be aware of:

  • The Pillar Stance
  • The Thrust Stance
  • The Wukong Stance

The Wukong Stance is not relevant at the stage you’re currently in, so we will ignore it in this article. Regarding the other two stances, however, you can not switch to or unlock them until you’ve reached a particular level in the game.

  • For the Pillar Stance, you must reach Level 5
  • For the Thrust Stance, you must reach Level 20.

After achieving these progressions, you must head towards the Self-Advance Tab. Go to the Staff Stances section and utilize your Sparks to unlock a brand-new stance.

What Does Each Stance Do?

Each Stance has its skill tree, which you can upgrade as you progress. To upgrade them, however, you must spend Sparks.

However, if you’re in the early stages of the game, that shouldn’t be your worry. For now, you must be aware of the Heavy Attacks that each Stance provides.

  • In Smash Stance, the Destined One jumps into the air to come blazing down with a devastating short-range offense.
  • In the Pillar Stance, the Destined One blends defensive and offensive strategies. Here, your character will settle on top of his staff to avoid the enemies’ melee attacks (for defense) before countering them with a long-range offense.
  • In the Thrust Stance, the Destined One charges forward with a powerful thrust to deal significant damage to the enemy.
