Go fishing!

If you want to start fishing, there are some things you need to know and do. First of all, you need to own the Season of the Deep season pass to get access to the quest that will eventually lead you to the calm, soothing hobby that is fishing.

If you do own the season pass, and finish the introductory quest on the returning Titan, once you return to the H.E.L.M. you'll get access to the Gone Fishin' quest.

The quest has seven steps, but don't be afraid of how intimidating that sounds, these are very very simple and are all tied to Season of the Deep.

Simply do the following:

  • Step 1: Talk to Hawthorne in the Tower. She will give you a Fishing Tackler container for you to store bait.
  • Step 2: You need to collect bait. Simply do seasonal activities (Salvage and Deep Dive). Patrols, public events, or collecting destination materials works as well.

Step 3 is where it gets fun as this is where you'll gain access to fishing. You can fish in Destiny 2 in three different locations: EDZ, Nessus, and Savathun's Throne World.

The locations will be marked on your map so simply put a waypoint and head to the pond. Once there, you have to make sure there is a glowing blue light in the exact area of the pond as this means the event will trigger.

In case it doesn't, that means another Public Event is happening in the area and you'll have to wait until it's done.

Fishing is really addictive

The action of fishing itself is very easy. Simply get near the pond and press your interact key/button to throw your fishing rod. Once you see it move immediately hit the interact button or key again (there is a Perfect Catch timer) and a fish should land at your feet!

Once you're done, take your captured fish to the H.E.L.M's aquarium and reap your rewards! These can be legendary weapons or gear, and even exotic drops.

One more thing we recommend is you stack on bait as they'll give you a buff called Focused Fishing, which will allow you to get better chances at capturing much rarer fish.

While you're relaxing soaking in on the vibes of a nice evening of catching some Servant Lobster's, why not check out the best PvE weapons in Destiny 2?
