Entropy's Grasp is one of the main quests in Dragon Age: The Veilguard. This mission revolves around an ancient Veil Bubble artifact that disrupts the balance of magic in the Arlathan Forest.
Restoring balance requires players to use Power Crystals, old elven artifacts that store magical energy. This article explains how to find the Power Crystal essential for completing the mission.
How To Get and Use the Power Crystal To Complete Entropy’s Grasp
During the Entropy’s Grasp quest in Dragon Age: The Veilguard, you’ll work with Bellara to shut down an artifact causing chaos.
The way forward is blocked by a locked door that needs two crystals, though one is missing.
Here’s how to grab the second Power Crystal and keep moving in this quest:
First Power Crystal
When you first reach the locked door at the Broken Stairway, you’ll notice that one Power Crystal is already slotted into a device beside the door.
Your first task is to take this crystal, which will float with you as you explore.
Once you have it, face away from the door and look toward the courtyard where you recently fought the Frenzied Sentinel.
On the opposite side, you’ll spot a smaller, sealed door with another socket next to it.
Approach the side door and place the crystal into the socket beside it to unlock the way forward.
While making your way up, you’ll arrive at a ledge with a large ballista. Unfortunately, the ballista is stuck up with several Blight Boils.
These grotesque boils must be destroyed with either light or heavy attacks to clear the mechanism.
Take control of the ballista and aim it at a crumbling section of the wall across the courtyard. Fire a shot to shatter the wall, creating a new passage.
However, breaking the wall will attract a swarm of enemies, including Darkspawn and constructs, as the noise summons them.
You can use the ballista to take them out from a distance or jump down for a direct melee fight. Make sure all threats are neutralized before moving on.
Second Power Crystal
Once the enemies are defeated, drop down from the ledge and head through the hole you created in the wall.
If you turn to your right, you'll spot the missing Power Crystal in the corner.
Some loot may also be nearby, so collect any valuables before picking up the crystal.
Return to the original locked door now that you have the second crystal. Insert the second Power Crystal into one of the sockets beside the door.
Then, retrieve the first crystal from the side door socket and place it in the remaining slot to power the main door fully.
Beyond the newly opened door, you’ll run into a tough Ogre at the end of this quest section. The Ogre swings around a huge club and hits hard.
When the club glows red, you can't block that hit. Avoid these attacks by dodging or rolling since even one hit can be deadly.
If you have fire-based abilities or spells, use them liberally, as the Ogre is especially weak to fire damage.
Utilize skills that can stagger or interrupt the Ogre to create openings for powerful counterattacks.
Once you’ve successfully defeated the Ogre, Bellara will finally have the opportunity to work on deactivating the artifact.
During this sequence, you’ll witness a cutscene, and your dialogue choices can affect the conversation but won’t have major consequences.
After deactivating the artifact, pick up any leftover loot in the area and chat with Bellara to finish this quest segment.
