In Warhammer 40,000: Space Marine 2, Mastery Points are essential for weapon progression and unlocking perks to enhance and upgrade your weapons. Each weapon has an experience bar, and as you level up your weapons, you earn Mastery Points that let you unlock additional perks and upgrades.

These upgrades allow you to customize your weapons to your liking in combat. While each weapon has its unique tree with several perks, learning how to use it will help you unlock a better version of a weapon.

Mastery Points in Warhammer 40K: Space Marine 2 are linked with the weapon advancement system and acquired using weapons in Operation missions. All weapons have an experience point bar that increases as you use them during combat.

The more you use a weapon, the more its experience bar fills up. When the weapon's XP is fully maxed out, you unlock Mastery Points. These points unlock bonuses that improve various weapon characteristics, such as damage output and reload rate.

In addition to Mastery Points, you will also need Armory Data and Requisition to unlock the first upgrades of the weapon.

It is important to note that Mastery Points are unique to each weapon, and you cannot transfer them from one weapon to another. You will have to earn points again when you switch between weapons. Since it takes time to gain these points, it is wise to focus on the one you use frequently.

Once you have gained Mastery Points, you can use them in the perk tree of the weapon by heading to the Armory Hall. Every weapon has a unique perk tree, categorized as Standard, Master-Crafted, Artificer, and Relic. To access the higher tiers of perks, you must first upgrade your weapon with Armory Data.

Each weapon has a limited number of Mastery Points, so you can't unlock all perks simultaneously. You'll need to choose the perks that best fit your playstyle. If you change your playstyle later, you can reset your perks. This feature lets you reassign Mastery Points to different perks.
