During your time playing No Man's Sky, you've likely encountered Sentinels as you've scoured planets for resources and materials. Sentinels are small drones that will police and punish you for disturbing fauna, but their presence isn't prominent on every planet you visit. Regardless, the drones can be quite the nuisance when trying to farm a specific resource or complete a quest.

So, in this guide, we've explained how to get rid of Sentinels in No Man's Sky.

How to Get Rid Of Sentinels

When it comes to dealing with Sentinels, there are a few things you can do to keep them off your back. The first would be to immediately stop what you're doing when they approach. Sentinels will scan the area to see what you're doing, and provided you aren't mining or anything along those lines when they approach you, they will then leave you be.

If it's too late for this, and the Sentinels are already on your tail, your next best bet is to go and hide from them. Make a run for it and enter a nearby building if possible, and after a short wait and some luck, the Sentinels will tire of searching for you. In this instance, it's particularly good to go hide at a planetary Outpost if you know where one is located. Once at the Outpost, Sentinels won't bother you and will tire of searching for you much quicker.

The next option is also hiding, but requires you hopping into your Starship and simply leaving the planet. While Sentinels can fly, it's highly unlikely that they will leave the planet's atmosphere and follow you into space. However, you will have a heat level while you're in space and may be pursued by a single Sentinel Starship. Taking this down will increase your heat level further, but gives you an avenue of time to make an escape to another planet, the Space Anomaly or Space Station.

The final option, if both stopping what you're doing and hiding from Sentinels doesn't work, is fighting them. We advise against this unless you're properly armed. Even if you're properly armed, killing Sentinels will increase your heat level in No Man's Sky, meaning that Sentinels will then seek you out even more, and more of them will come for you.

That's all there is when it comes to avoiding and getting rid of Sentinels in No Man's Sky.
