Whether you’re enjoying the thrill or stuck on the tricky mechanics, this guide will walk you through each stage of the Gold Trial.

How To Complete the Gold Trial

To finish the Gold Trial in Indiana Jones and the Great Circle, you’ll need to solve a puzzle with suspended columns that must be carefully positioned over blazing fire pits.

The flames that burst out when the columns are in place mean you're on the right track.

Head to the Monastery Courtyard in the Fountain Underground to find this puzzle.

This is necessary to craft the Gold Key of St. Peter, which unlocks the monastery doors together with the Silver Key.

When you walk into the Gold Trial chamber, you’ll spot a big lever at the far end, but it won’t work until you solve the puzzle.

You can find the first set of chains for adjusting the columns on the left side of the room.

Pull the chains to reposition the nearest hanging column so it lines up directly above the fire pit, producing smoke.

A flame will flare below it as soon as the columns are in place.

Do the same for the second column in the same area, ensuring both are lined up correctly before proceeding.

Once the first two columns are lined up, head up to the upper levels to keep going.

Look for a whip grapple point above the first lit column. Use your whip to climb the beam, then swing to the column with the white stripe.

Gina will move the column to the next platform so you can swing up to the broken entrance on the other side.

Head through the opening and drop down to access the hidden chain controls for the rest of the columns.

Find the chains for the third and fourth columns in this new section. Pull the chains to match the columns with the fire pits below them.

Once the flames are going, return to the earlier chains to ensure all four columns are in the right spot.

When the columns are set, and the flames are on, head to the back of the room, pull the lever, and open the exit door.

Behind the door is the Gold Forge, where you'll wrap up the trial.

Pull the chain here to fire up the forge and let the molten gold fill the key mold.

Swing your whip to grab the metal ring above the mold and release the water to solidify the molten gold into a Gold Key.

When the key is forged, retrieve it and return to the monastery's main doors. Then, drop the Gold Key into the slot.

Once you finish the Silver Trial and get the Silver Key, the doors will open and take you to the next part.

Watch the smoke from the fire pits during the trial, showing where the columns should go.

You’ll need Gina to reach some areas, so make the most of her help.

You need to finish both the Gold and Silver Trials to move forward in the Vatican section and uncover the Great Circle's secrets.
