With attention focusing on the launch of Modern Warfare 2, information on the next chapter of Warzone is beginning to emerge.
Along with a first look at the brand-new map, Warzone 2 will release in 2022 much to the excitement of players. Before then, Season 4 is right around the corner and Raven Software is teasing the launch of a brand-new map known as Fortune's Keep.
Before the reveal of Modern Warfare 2, Warzone content creator JGOD had a chance to experience the new game. After playing, they've expressed their concerns surrounding its impact on Warzone 2.
JGOD "Nervous" About Warzone 2 Engine
In a June 9 upload, JGOD discusses various innovations and improvements within Modern Warfare 2.
While it wasn't a hands-on test with Warzone 2, Modern Warfare 2 is an extension of the new battle royale title. It will feature the same engine and a swimming mechanic.
The change to a new engine may improve some elements of the game but the inclusion of swimming has the Warzone extraordinaire worried.
"There's a risk-reward associated with water because if you happen to have someone jump in, you're running Overkill, you're running two primary weapons, you're not going to be able to fire your weapon, so you're at a huge disadvantage."
The new engine means players can use a melee weapon or a pistol when in the water and if you don't have either of those as part of a loadout, you have no way of defending against any incoming opposition.
In addition to swimming, JGOD also mentions the reworked Gunsmith coming to Warzone 2 and Modern Warfare 2. The ability to "tune" attachments creates plenty of customisation opportunities but with so many to choose from, it's extremely confusing.
Plenty can change from now until Warzone 2 launches later in the year but JGOD raises some important issues. For more Warzone, check out our page for the latest news, leaks, and guides.
