Keanu Reeves Hasn't Played Cyberpunk 2077, Despite CDPR's Previous Claims

Keanu Reeves famously starred in Cyberpunk 2077 last year, lending his likeness and voice to rockstar Johnny Silverhand. However, during a recent interview, Reeves confirmed that he's not played it yet, contradicting CD Projekt Red's previous claim that he "loved" playing it.

Speaking to The Verge for a recent video interview, Reeves sat down with The Matrix co-star Carrie-Anne Moss, primarily discussing The Matrix Awakens. Around the 16:48 minute mark, The Verge asks whether Reeves plays video games, to which he answers "No." Asked if that includes Cyberpunk 2077, Reeves confirmed:

No, I mean, I’ve seen demonstrations, but I’ve never played it.

That contradicts statements released by CD Projekt Red's CEO, Adam Kiciński, last December. During an earnings call several days after the game released, Kiciński stated that Reeves "loves" to play Cyberpunk 2077. While Kiciński states the actor hadn't completed it yet, it's now apparent Reeves hadn't even started it.

Elsewhere with Cyberpunk 2077, CD Projekt Red confirmed they've entered settlement negotiations with a group of investors over the game botched launch last year. Make sure to follow us for more gaming news and updates as it happens.
