In a decisive move by streaming platform Kick, CEO Eddie announced on stream that content creator Jon Zherka will face a long-term ban, following his recent street fight with fellow streamer HStikkytokky. The incident, which spiraled into a physical altercation in the streets of Miami, has sparked significant attention and controversy.
Kick's CEO, Eddie, in a recent stream on the platform, condemned the violence, emphasising that such blatant violence would never be endorsed by Kick. Additionally, Eddie stated that Zherka would "be banned for a long time" from the platform, following his instigation of the altercation.
The interaction between Zherka and HStikkyTokky, both two of the biggest streamers on Kick, escalated rapidly. What started as a verbal confrontation turned into a full-blown fight outside a Miami restaurant, captured on video by several shocked bystanders.
The brawl between the streamers saw Zherka initiate the fight by pushing and swinging at HStikkyTokky. However, the tables quickly turned as Zherka was overpowered and brought to the ground, his shirt ripped off in the scuffle.
Subsequently, the altercation spilled onto a busy street, disrupting traffic and endangering both themselves and the public, before being diffused by the blaring horns of blocked cars. After the fight, Zherka revealed on X that his arm was dislocated as he brawled with HStikkytokky.
In his stream, CEO Eddie highlighted that the decision to ban Zherka wasn't his, but he clearly showed no qualms with Kick's decision to ban the content creator. The nature of the fight was a blatant breach of Kick's terms of service, and Kick's response to hand out a long-term ban to one of its most popular streamers is a powerful statement to other creators.
This is far from Zherka's first brush with controversy, however, this fight further highlights a worrying trend in his behaviour. Earlier this year, he was involved in an on-stream altercation, following accusations of being a racist by a viewer. The recent incident, however, marked a significant escalation in severity due to the public setting and the fact that the fight spilled into a road with oncoming vehicles.
