How to get soul orbs in Like a Dragon: Ishin

There are two ways to get soul orbs in Like a Dragon: Ishin. The first one is to simply practice your combat styles. You will receive Soul Orbs of the combat style you are currently using as you naturally fight.

The second way to get Soul Orbs is to level up your character. This method allows you to obtain grey Soul Orbs, which is the elusive fifth type.

You can upgrade any combat style with Soul Orbs according to that style, or the grey orbs you receive by levelling up your character. So, the Soul Orbs of the fifth type are universal, and can be used to upgrade any combat style.

Also, the grey Soul Orbs have another interesting feature. You can replace them with other Soul Orbs. For example, if you’ve spent some grey Soul Orbs to improve the Swordsman style and then decided that you don’t need that many Swordsman upgrades, you can take them back out.

After that, your universal orbs will be free again, and you will be able to spend them on other combat styles.

The Soul Orb system is very interesting and flexible. It allows you to upgrade the fighting style you use the most, while leaving some universal skill points for other styles.
