As is tradition in the industry, the new trailer for Mafia: The Old Country has leaked ahead of the scheduled reveal. The new trailer gives us a new look at the game and a new release window.

Mafia 4 Trailer Leak
The leak was found on X, with a user showing the trailer recorded on a phone. The trailer shows what appears to be some gameplay action, including the inclusion of horses. Given the time period of the new game, fans speculated about transport methods, as the previous titles all featured automobiles to get around the city.
A surprise, to be sure, but a welcome one.
Mafia: The Old Country's first trailer was shown at Gamescom 2024, eight years after the release of its predecessor, Mafia III.
The Mafia franchise is currently in the hands of Hangar 13, who created Mafia III in 2016 as their debut title and have since remade the original Mafia game with 2020's Mafia Definitive Edition.
Each entry lets players enjoy a cinematic experience of the mobster-filled criminal underworld in America via open-world action-adventure games. The series has received praise from critics, and Mafia 2 often gets praise from fans for being the favorite title of the original trilogy.
When Will Mafia: The Old Country Release?

The Mafia: The Old Country trailer gave fans a look at what to expect in the new game. Swapping eras from the 1930s- 1960s to the early 1900s, Mafia: The Old Country is set during the origins of organized crime syndicates.

Mafia: The Old Country is expected to have gameplay similar to the original Mafia Trilogy. As it is a prequel, it is unlikely that fan favorites such as Tommy Angelo and Vito Scaletta will make an appearance.

What Platforms Will Mafia: The Old Country Be On?
Mafia: The Old Country will be available on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series S/X, and Steam. Other platforms may be announced in the future, but only those mentioned above are confirmed for now.
PC specs are not available at the time of writing.
Mafia: The Old Country pre-order editions will likely be revealed at the closer look at the game in December 2024. Currently, the game is available to wishlist on the platforms announced for launch.
It is unlikely that the game will be released for Nintendo Switch, Xbox One, or PlayStation 4. However, we will update this article should things change.
