How well your team talks to each other can make or break your chances in Marvel Rivals.

Voice chat is usually the easiest way to coordinate, but not everyone has the time or ability to talk during tense moments.

That's where the ping system comes in. This article explains how to use the ping system to help you communicate better and work as a team.

How To Ping

To begin with, using basic pings in Marvel Rivals is quite simple.

On a PC, press the middle mouse button (aka the scroll wheel) to trigger a ping. When playing on a console, use the D-pad to place pings.

These basic pings are mainly used to identify enemy positions, areas that require focus, or important strategic spots.

However, the ping wheel feature is handy for communicating more precisely.

You can access the wheel by holding the PC's middle mouse button or using the console's D-pad.

The wheel makes it easy to drop commands like "Attack Here," "Need Help," or "Ultimate Ready."

Move your mouse (or joystick) over the alert, then release the button to send the ping to your team.

You can tweak the number of sections in the ping wheel for even more customization.

The wheel has four sections at first, but you can expand it to eight for commands like "Group Up," "Caution," and "Defend Here."

Besides these features, contextual pings help you react immediately to what’s happening around you.

When you spot an enemy, aim at it and press the ping button to give your team a heads-up on its location.

Likewise, when you find an important item or map objective, a well-timed ping can direct your teammates' focus to it.

This comes in handy when verbal communication isn't possible or when speed is essential.

One more thing about pinging is how it works with the map. You can ping locations on the map whether you're on a PC or console.

On the PC, press M to pull up the map or use the map button on the console. Tap the ping button to mark a place when the map is open.

It’s great for guiding your team to key areas on the map, such as an incoming objective or a location that needs more backup.

Finally, pings are helpful, but don’t forget to be respectful. It might be tempting to spam pings when things get intense, but it just distracts your teammates.

Instead, use pings for important things like marking enemy positions, key objectives, or asking for help.
