If Spider-Man or Venom is your choice in Marvel Rivals, the web-swinging mechanics may occasionally feel slightly clunky.

That’s because the game has a default setting called Easy Swing that automatically determines where you swing. This is great for beginners but not so much for players who want more control.

This article explains how to disable Easy Swing and take full control of your swings for precise map movement.

What Is Easy Swing?

Easy Swing locks onto the closest anchor point, so you can swing effortlessly without targeting.

This is convenient for new players who may struggle with aiming their swings while getting accustomed to the game’s mechanics.

However, as you progress, Easy Swing might not cut it anymore.

The automatic nature of the mechanic can lead to random swings in directions you didn’t intend, causing you to either miss strategic positions or get caught off-guard by enemies.

This is a real issue for Venom, who only gets one swing per cooldown, and Spider-Man, who depends on web-swinging to get out of tight spots.

The lack of control can turn what should be a fluid and strategic movement into a chaotic experience.

Precision swinging lets you zip around the map, setting you up to make quick escapes or perfect attacks.

Without it, you might swing into the wrong places, costing you valuable time or even putting you in danger.

How To Turn Off Easy Swing

To turn off Easy Swing in Marvel Rivals and control your swings yourself, open the main menu and hit the gear icon in the top-right corner to get to the settings.

After that, head over to the Controller/Keyboard tab where you can adjust your input settings.

Select Combat to access the combat-related settings for your characters.

Next, under the All Heroes dropdown menu, choose either Spider-Man or Venom. You can tweak the settings for these characters individually.

When you select your hero, scroll down to find the Easy Swing (for Venom) or Automatic Swing (for Spider-Man) option.

These options are on by default to help with automatic web-swinging. Simply toggle these settings off to disable the automatic feature.

Once the changes are made, test the manual swinging at the practice range.

This allows you to practice aiming and swinging by hand, which may take some time to get used to.

Why Disable Easy Swing?

Easy Swing makes things easier for newbies by eliminating aiming, but it hinders more experienced players in terms of movement.

If you turn this off, you’ll have total control over where you swing, which is helpful for tricky maneuvers like the Webzit dodge.

Press the swing button while mid-swing to dodge attacks like the Scarlet Witch’s Ultimate or shift your position to catch enemies off guard.

Turning off Easy Swing is necessary to get the most out of Spider-Man and Venom in Marvel Rivals.

Better accuracy makes gameplay smoother, whether you are dodging enemies or setting up your next move.

Manual control lets you select your exact swing points, allowing you to move around the map as you please.

One of the perks of manual swinging is the chance to plan your swings in detail.

Instead of just swinging anywhere, aim for spots that set you up for a solid attack or defense.

Spider-Man and Venom count on swinging for defense and navigation, and manual control can improve your ability to outmaneuver enemies.

In addition to turning off Easy Swing, consider enabling the Hold to Swing feature in the settings.

By default, the swing button works with a tap-to-swing-and-release mechanic, which might feel a little clunky.

The Hold to Swing option ensures that your character keeps swinging as long as you hold the button, giving you smoother and faster movement.
