Last week, the TikTok ban affected more than just TikTok; it affected other apps under the ByteDance banner. One such game that was unexpectedly pulled was Marvel Snap.
Marvel Snap may be up and running again now, but the devs at Second Dinner want to compensate the players for the temporary outage. What’s great is that this compensation applies to players who experienced the ban and non-players.
Marvel Snap’s Player Compensation
According to VGC, the compensation package for Marvel Snap will depend on players' levels and locations.
With some resorting to playing on a VPN while the outage happened, Second Dinner has also confirmed that they will still receive compensation like everyone else. This is the list of what players should expect to get depending on their status in the game:

The packages aren’t too different, but the US-based package seems to have more Random Boosters than the non-US one.
On the Hunt for a New Publisher
While TikTok may have been the main focus of the ban, the devs have confirmed online that they had no idea that Marvel Snap would be affected. They have also confirmed that Snap is now looking for a new publisher in the US Market, especially since the ban on TikTok is only temporary and may not be lifted within the given extension.
So far, it doesn’t seem like there are any takers for Marvel Snap as a publisher. However, besides Marvel Rivals, Snap has proven to be a successful card game, and it’s been getting nothing but great reviews from players and critics.
It may not seem like Snap could attract the same audience as Rivals, but it has been applauded for its elegant game design and gameplay loop. Snap also spotlights several Marvel heroes—including some very obscure ones—and offers cards of the same character in artwork by different artists, some of whom are officially collaborating with Marvel Comics.
