Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 is easily this year’s best PlayStation exclusive and fans are dying to replay the game with that sweet non-symbiote black costume. However, fans might have to wait a bit longer for that, as New Game Plus has been delayed to 2024, alongside a bevy of features.

Insomniac informed fans on Twitter about the delay, claiming they need more time to add all of this and make sure it plays well. At the least, players will be happy to know that Insomniac is listening to feedback, adding in several fan-requested features.

New features coming to Marvel’s Spider-Man 2, aside from New Game Plus, include changing the color of tendrils, changing the time of day, and replaying missions. We’re sure that mission replay will be useful for those who want to have that brief moment of playing as Venom.

Having all of these free improvements is great and should get fans excited about the possibility of DLC. Various developers have hinted that a DLC campaign would be coming to the open-world superhero title and it might even bring Daredevil to the mix. That’s a lot of great fanservice for Marvel fans and it might come true, given some of the game’s Nelson and Murdock imagery.

This isn’t the first time Insomniac has added improvements in addition to New Game Plus, as most Spider-Man 2 fans know. Insomniac’s first Spider-Man game also received New Game Plus post-launch, alongside a ton of free costumes like the iconic Sam Raimi outfit. We can probably expect a similar amount of content from the sequel, if not more, especially since the sequel is lacking in more comic-inspired outfits.

Despite not winning anything during The Game Awards, most fans will agree that the superhero sequel was this year’s best PS5 exclusive. While the gameplay isn’t anything groundbreaking, it’s still extremely fun and satisfying to web-swing around New York. It also helps that the story is pretty good.
