Dishonored and Deathloop developer Arkane Lyon have announced Marvel’s Blade, an Xbox exclusive superhero game that brings the mature action adventure of the comic book vampire hunter to the video game world.

Announced during The Game Awards 2023 alongside Hideo Kojima’s Xbox horror exclusive OD, Marvel’s Blade brings the freedom of Arkane’s immersive sims to the third-person action genre.

Early in development, Marvel’s Blade brings the iconic day walking vampire hunter to the heart of Paris in a brand-new third person adventure game. Bringing the immersive sim gameplay of Arkane’s past titles into a third-person action game, Blade is set to be something very special.

“The entire team has poured so much love into this immersive third person adventure set in the heart of Paris,” Arkane Lyon said at The Game Awards 2023.

With Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 and Marvel’s Wolverine games exclusive to the PlayStation family of console, it’s unclear if Marvel’s Blade is part of the same video game universe. However, the title is set to have the same mature style as Insomniac’s Wolverine, complete with violence, blood and more.

Marvel’s Blade isn’t the only licensed game in development for Xbox consoles only. In fact, Wolfenstein developer MachineGames is working on a new Indiana Jones game for Xbox and PC, although no release date has been revealed at the time of writing.

“In Marvel's Blade, Eric Brooks is the legendary Daywalker, half-man, half-vampire torn between the warm society of the living and the rushing power of the undead,” reads the game’s official synopsis. “From Bethesda and Arkane Lyon, the studio that brought you Dishonored and DEATHLOOP, Marvel's Blade is a mature, single-player, third-person game set in the heart of Paris, now in development in collaboration with Marvel Games.”

Unfortunately, much like titles such as Jurassic Park Survival, Marvel’s Blade doesn’t currently have a release date. With the game early in development, we shouldn’t expect the title until 2025 at the earliest.
