Modern Warfare 3 fans are furious after taking a look at the complex COD HQ user interface.

With players performing the New Zealand trick to load into Modern Warfare 3 at the earliest possible opportunity, attempting to navigate to their favourite game modes is proving harder than expected.

Instead of Activision utilising individual applications for each Call of Duty title, the shooter series has been bundled into the COD HQ, a one-stop shop for all things Call of Duty. As players attempt to load into multiplayer or zombies, many are already frustrated with its unnecessarily complex design.

To raise awareness of the complex UI, user DaVeHUN095 took to Reddit questioning the development process.

The player asks: "Are you out of your mind? In what universe is it considered a good thing that to be able to play MW3 you need to launch the game at least twice?" As expected, others are frustrated with the UI. Another adds: "So if you're not planning to buy MW3 either forever until a sale, you have to load into the HQ before you can even open up MW2."

For PC players, the arrival of the COD HQ means there's another pointless process elongating the time it takes to drop into the action. One fan reveals: "PC players already have all COD games inside the Blizzard launcher. So now we have to go to the Blizzard launcher to launch the COD HQ launcher to launch a COD game. A game inside a launcher inside a launcher."

Despite the complaints, there's a high chance the COD HQ is here to stay. However, if the backlash continues, it won't be long before the publisher is forced to adjust the UI to make it a more user-friendly experience. For now, it's best to familiarise yourself with the new layout if you're looking to access your favourite maps and zombies as fast as possible.
