Doom: The Dark Ages just had its release date leaked, giving players a great idea as to when it will come out. Fans have wanted to get their hands on this acclaimed shooter for a while now, given how well-reviewed the previous two entries are. Needless to say, the folks at id Software have a hit on their hands and we’re all pretty excited.
French website Gamekult (via ResetEra) accidentally revealed that The Dark Ages will be coming out on May 15, 2025. While this could have been a placeholder, the fact that it has since been deleted says otherwise. Then again, with an Xbox Developer Direct coming out soon, this is probably the actual release date.
Considering how close we are to the Xbox Direct, it’s clear that May 15 is when Doom: The Dark Ages will be coming out. Based on previous coverage, there doesn’t seem to be any console exclusivity and it looks like fans of various systems will be able to enjoy the shooter. There’s even a chance that Switch 2 owners will be able to play it, but let’s not get crazy.
The Dark Ages was revealed during Microsoft’s Xbox Games Showcase late last year, immediately impressing fans. While it doesn’t look that different from a typical Doom game, that’s not an issue at all as people love the visceral action of these titles. Both the 2016 reboot and the Eternal sequel impressed fans, so The Dark Ages has a lot to live up to.
With the Xbox Direct coming out soon, it’s only a matter of time before we get more details on Doom: The Dark Ages. Expect the game’s release date to be revealed, alongside a new trailer that should have some rocking music.
