If you're a fan of getting up close and personal with your enemies, the Haymaker may be the gun for you. We've compiled everything you need to know to make the best Modern Warfare 3 Haymaker loadout.
Stepping boldly into the shotgun category, the Haymaker is incredibly effective if you can get close to your enemy. Based on the real-life Fostech Origin-12, this primary weapon can clear rooms with ease and won't run out of rounds quickly.
Before we jump into the best Haymaker loadouts, get ready for the game with our explanation of cutthroat mode and guide to the best graphics settings. There's plenty more where that came from in our dedicated Modern Warfare 3 walkthrough hub, too.
What is the best Modern Warfare 3 Haymaker loadout?
- Perks: Gunner / Quick-Grip / Covert Sneakers / Blacklight Flashlight
- Grenades: Frag / Battle Rage
This build provides excellent hip fire accuracy which means you'll never have to spend any time aiming down the sights of the Haymaker. The rest of the build aims to enhance damage output in addition to an element of stealth that allows you to get up close and personal with the opposition.
Best Modern Warfare 3 Haymaker attachments
- Barrel: Imperator Long Barrel
- Laser: 1mW Laser Box
- Stock: Ironhide Brace Stock
- Underbarrel: XTEN Gravedigger
- Magazine: 20 Round Drum
Kicking things off is the Imperator Long Barrel which enhances the bullet velocity and range of the Haymaker. Up next is the 1MW Laser Box for improved hip fire recoil control.
To ensure recoil and stability is maintained, the Ironhide Brace Stock and the XTEN Gravedigger are the way to go thanks to additional gun kick and firing aim stability.
Last and by no means least is the 20 Round Mag which allows you to eliminate multiple opponents without the need to dip out of the action and reload.
Best Modern Warfare 3 Haymaker perks and equipment
Attachments are all well and good, but you'll need to find some effective perks and bring suitable equipment to excel in your matches. Luckily, we've found some great combinations and listed them below.
Perks
- Vest: Gunner
- Gloves: Quick-Grip
- Boots: Covert Sneakers
- Gear: Blacklight Flashlight
In the vest slot, you should select Gunner. Gunner makes you spawn with maximum ammo and provides a faster reload speed.
Gloves should have their slot filled by quick grip. Quick grip speeds up your weapon swapping which comes in handy when wanting to use your secondary weapon to tackle a target from afar.
You'll want the blacklight flashlight in your gear perk slot, as it shows recent enemy footsteps; this will help you track down targets for easy pickings.
Finally, your boots should make use of the covert sneakers. They make your footsteps silent, so your enemies won't know you're there until it's already too late.
Equipment
- Lethal: Frag grenade
- Tactical: Battle Rage
As a shotgun user, you'll want to flush enemies out for easy kills. This makes the frag grenade a solid choice for your lethal slot. Throwing it into a room will quickly see anyone inside run out, ready to be picked off.
Your tactical slot is best filled by the battle rage. Tactical Sprint is great for getting you close to enemies, and constantly regenerating health will keep you alive long enough to do so.
Is the Modern Warfare 3 Haymaker meta?
The Modern Warfare 3 meta continues to evolve and ahead of Season 1, the Haymaker isn't a part of it despite its impressive close-range damage. The lack of versatility definitely holds it back but it remains a solid shotgun to use if you're after a one-trick pony.
