The Signal 50 is a sniper rifle that has terrorised Call of Duty matches since appearing in 2013's Ghosts. Formerly known as the Lynx, it's back with a vengeance we'll help you dish out, using our best Modern Warfare 3 Signal 50 loadout.
Like all sniper rifles, the Signal 50 is only as good as your ability to land shots. For this reason, we'll probably see it become more popular on PCs than consoles - it's a good thing crossplay can be disabled.
Before you get settled in that sniper nest, get stuck into our loadout guide for the PDSW 528, read through the game's day one patch notes, and find more in our Modern Warfare 3 walkthrough hub.
What is the best Modern Warfare 3 Signal 50 loadout?
- Perks: Engineer / Marksman / Climbing / Mag Holster
- Grenades: Claymore / Flash
Best Modern Warfare 3 Signal 50 attachments
The gunsmith contains a variety of attachments capable of bolstering several areas of the Signal 50. After some extensive testing, this set of attachments is perfect for dealing maximum damage throughout a match:
- Barrel: FSS Jetstream
- Stock: FTAC Invisi-670 Stock
- Underbarrel: FTAC MSP-98 Handstop
- Magazine: 7 Round Magazine
- Rear Grip: Cronen Blockade Grip
Up first is the FSS Jetstream barrel for an increase in damage range and bullet velocity, ensuring no drop-off in performance when picking off targets with the Signal 50 from afar.
Recoil management is always important in Modern Warfare 3 and the pairing of FTAC MSP-98 Handstop and Cronen Blockade Grip prevents any kick from disrupting accuracy levels in the heat of battle.
To enhance mobility, the FTAC Invisi-670 Stock comes into its own thanks to a slight boost in sprint speed and movement speed while aiming down the scope.
Best Modern Warfare 3 Signal 50 perks and equipment
Snipers are specialist fighters, and their jobs are much easier with a solid set of perks and well-chosen equipment. We've gone over everything on offer to provide some of the options best suited to the Signal 50.
Perks
- Vest: Engineer
- Gloves: Marksman
- Boots: Climbing
- Gear: Mag holster
The vest slot is best suited to the engineer perk. Aiming down your sights at enemies will mark them for teammates, so even if you hit a body shot, your team can swiftly finish the enemy off. As a bonus, this perk also recharges equipment faster and marks enemy equipment/killstreaks through walls.
Snipers shouldn't be surprised that the gloves slot should use the marksman perk. It reduces your swaying and flinching while aiming down sights, letting you pop heads in peace.
Climbing into an advantageous position is important when you're sniping, so your boots should use the climbing perk. It makes you a faster climber and mantler while reducing fall damage, and getting you into high-up positions faster.
With just five shots, you'll be reloading a lot. That's why your gear slot should use the mag holster perk - a quicker reload means less danger.
Equipment
- Lethal: Claymore
- Tactical: Flash grenade
When you're carefully aiming at the enemies below, it's easy to lose track of your surroundings. The claymore can help with that, dealing with anyone trying to rush your sniper nest.
Some may find the scatter mine useful in the tactical equipment slot, but the flash grenade will slow nearby enemies down and make it harder for them to escape your wrath.
Is the Modern Warfare 3 Signal 50 meta?
As a gun with a built-in scope and recoil control, the Signal 50 is primed to be one of the sniper rifles standing tall in the meta. We can't be totally sure, of course. It'll depend on any changes made to the weapon as we jump from Modern Warfare 2 to Modern Warfare 3.
Now that you're primed to start busting heads in Modern Warfare 3, get your other loadouts in order with our guides to the Haymaker and ISO 9mm. We can also teach you how to quickscope.
